Metro People

On my way to work this morning, I took the Santiago Metro (tube)--it is a standard method of transport for me. Something occurred that caused me to question the logic of the Metro (or Santiago/Chile) people.

I stood holding on to my dear life since the Metro train drivers are somewhat break-sharp happy due to having a tendency of misjudging breaking distances. In front of me there was a gentleman patiently sat for his stop--which was the same as mine. Between stations, he decided to stand up and make his way to the exit door in a moving overcrowded carriage, squeezing pass me (a big man with an oversized back pack) and barging pass someone else, attempting to balance himself on the moving and breaking train, bla., bla., bla., you get the picture.

So what?

So it got me thinking... The majority of the people get off at this stop, most people reshuffle to allow the people vacate, walking within a moving train is like standing up on a moving roller coaster and the train stops sharp. My thoughts, "Sit the feck down fool!" Where are you going to get that is so important or more important than other people? Why are you moving? You will get out with every body else! You will only gain about half a second! Are you thick or stupid?

Are you logical?

The answer is clearly, "No." The point is that don't realise that it would be more efficient to just stay sat down and wait until the train stops and then leave. It is the same as the people in a flight when the plane stops, everyone gets up and waits very uncomfortably for another 20 minutes on their feet only to wait for their luggage in the airport and also to pass customs, they really don't gain any time...fools.

I think that they should just stay sat down, wait until the train stops and then get out.
